As teased late last month, OnePlus has announced its latest limited-edition flagship, the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition.

The limited edition OnePlus 6T comes with signature McLaren color –Papaya Orange — accents running across its side and bottom edges. There’s also a pattern design underneath the rear glass which matches the design of the carbon fiber used by McLaren in its sports cars and F1 cars.

The same color theme is also used for the packaging which includes a braided Papaya Orange cable. The box itself carries the McLaren logo and its iconic Speedmark which has been recreated using the McLaren-designed F1 AA grade carbon fiber.

The internal specs of the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition are the same as the regular edition, though it comes with a “colossal” 10GB RAM and 256GB storage. On the software side, the McLaren edition runs on Android 9.0 Pie/OxygenOS, with OnePlus throwing in some exclusive animations to separate it from the regular OnePlus 6T.

“The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is a special collaboration between McLaren and OnePlus,” said Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing. “The end product is a device that brings performance never seen before. Our thanks to our OnePlus partners for capturing our spirit accurately and bringing unmatched power and speed in the new flagship device.”

The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition also marks the debut of OnePlus’ new charging technology, Warp Charge 30. Building on Dash Charge, Warp Charge 30 supplies 30W (5V/6A) of power to the device without causing excess heat or any other side effects. The charging speed is retained even while the device is being used when charging. Thanks to the higher power flow, Warp Charge offers a full day of power on just 20 minutes.

The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition will go on sale for $699 from December 13th in the U.S. and Europe. It will also launch in India and other parts of the world in the coming weeks.
