OnePlus 6T front render

OnePlus is widely expected to unveil the OnePlus 6T later this month. Rumors have already given us a good idea of what to expect from the device, though spoiling OnePlus party is today’s leak of the marketing renders of the OnePlus 6T.

The renders give us a clear look at the new waterdrop-notch design of the OnePlus 6T from the front. While not visible in the renders, the OnePlus 6T has been confirmed to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. This explains the lack of a fingerprint sensor at the rear of the device where it is currently located on the OnePlus 6.

Apart from the waterdrop notch design, the OnePlus 6T seems to be largely similar to the OnePlus 6. It will miss out on a headphone jack, though OnePlus will be making use of the additional space to increase the battery capacity to 3,700mAh. This should allow the 6T to offer notably better battery life than the OnePlus 6.

Internally, the OnePlus 6T is expected to sport the same set of internals as its predecessor. This means we will be looking at a Snapdragon 845 chipset running at 2.8GHz, up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The dual-camera setup at the rear is also expected to remain largely unchanged, with OnePlus only making some minor processing improvements at best.

Overall, it looks like the highlight of the OnePlus 6T is going to be the switch to a waterdrop notch design display, in-display fingerprint scanner, and the missing headphone jack. To help make the switch easier for its customers, OnePlus will be bundling a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter with the 6T and will also start selling an updated pair of Bullets earphones with USB-C port.

What do you think about the OnePlus 6T based on the above renders? Do you plan on upgrading to it from the OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 6?
