Google definitely learnt something from the Nexus 4 launch issues. Last year when the Nexus 4 went up for sale, the whole website crashed because of the insane traffic. The handset also went out of stock for the next two months.
Compared to all this, the Nexus 5 launch has been pretty smooth. The handset was instantly up for sale on the Play Store and majority of the users were able to order it without any issues. Initially, the Nexus 5 had a shipping time of 1-2 days, which has now slipped to 2-3 weeks.
The good news is that some people are already receiving email from Google that their Nexus 5 has shipped. Keep in mind that it is Halloween in the USA right now, it is surprising to see orders shipping out from LG’s warehouse today.
Sadly, my Nexus 5 is yet to ship and the email from Google says it will ship on November 5th, even though I placed the order within the first couple of minutes of the device being available. For some reason, the Nexus 7 shipping date has also slipped by a few days and the device will now start shipping by November 6th.
