If you try and buy a Nexus 10 right now, you’ll discover that you can’t. It’s sold out. According to International Business Times, there’s a reason for that. They say that Google is going to unveil, and begin selling, the successor of the Nexus 10 starting today. Unlike the first Nexus 10, which was made by Samsung, this new 10 inch model will be made by LG. An image of it leaked a few weeks ago, but the leaks and rumors have slowed down since then.
Why would Google adopt this kind of PR strategy? Today is technically known as “Cyber Monday”, the day when people sit at home and buy a whole bunch of stuff off the internet that they failed to buy during Black Friday. I’ve never actually heard of “Cyber Monday”, but then again I’m not actively hunting the internet for deals.
Circling back to the new Nexus 10, what exactly is known about it thus far, other than the fact that it’s made by LG? It’ll allegedly have a Snapdragon 800 under the hood and 3 GB of RAM, giving it the same specs as the Galaxy Note 3. There’s no word about 4G LTE support, but you’ve got to think that because this device uses the Snapdragon 800, there simply has to be an LTE option.
And as for price, I’d be surprised to see something higher than $399, but you never really know with Google. The 2012 Nexus 10 started at $399, which is the same price as the base model iPad mini.
