Moto Z Force

In addition to the Moto Z, Motorola also launched the Moto  Z Force today. Successor to the Moto X Force, the handset feature a slim profile just like the Moto Z and come with upgraded internals. While the Moto X Force featured a ShatterProof display, the Moto Z

The Moto Z Force sports similar internals as the Moto Z, but comes with a beefier battery, a higher resolution camera, and ShatterShield that ensures the handset’s screen is shatterproof. Motorola also claims that the handset features the world’s fastest charging mechanism, dubbed TurboPower, that is capable of charging the handset’s 3500mAh battery to 50% in less than 30 mins. And only 15mins on the charger is enough to make the phone last for 15 additional hours.

Under the hood, the Moto Z Force features a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen, a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB of speedy UFS storage, and a microSD card slot. The 6.99mm thin phone features water repellent nano-coating, a USB Type-C port for headphones, data, and charging, NFC, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac with MIMO, and Bluetooth 4.1.

The rear of the Z Force features a 21MP shooter with an f/1.8 aperture, OIS, PDAF, and LaserAF. Motorola’s new camera app comes with features like Best Shot, Auto Night mode, and a Professional mode. The front of the phone houses a 5MP f/2.2 aperture shooter with large 1.4um pixels.

Moto Insta Share Mod

The Z Force also features Moto Mods support that allows the handsets functionality to be increased with the use of Mods. Motorola showed off three different Mods at the event. The first one is an Insta-Share projector that turns your phone into a projector. It comes with its own built-in battery so as to not drain the battery of the handset. The second Mod is from JBL dubbed the SoundBoost. The speaker helps in improving the sound quality and audio experience from the phone, and it even comes with a built-in kickstand. Lastly, Motorola has teamed up with Incipio to create the offGRID Power Pack Mod that increases the battery life of the handset by an additional 22 hours.

The Moto Z Force will be available exclusively through Verizon as the Moto Z Force Droid in summer. The handset will also be available unlocked in the country from the fall.
