A couple of weeks after officially unveiling MIUI v6, Xiaomi has gone ahead and released the developer preview build of its latest OS for the Chinese variant of the Mi 3 and the recently announced Mi 4.
Sadly, the installation steps of the developer preview build are not really straightforward and requires users to first switch to the developer preview build of MIUI v5. Post the switch, they should should automatically receive the OTA update to MIUI v6.
MIUI v6 contains a number of improvements including a new flatter UI with most of the clutter removed, lockscreen notifications, control center and more.
Since the ROM is technically still in beta, don’t be surprised if you frequently come across bugs and other hiccups in case you end up using the ROM as a daily driver. Do make sure to report them to the MIUI software team as it will help them in quickly getting the stable version of MIUI v6 out for all users and devices.
