Microsoft today announced that it will be brining its productive Office suite for Android tablets in early 2015. It is also allowing interested customers to sign up for testing the preview build of Office for Android tablets.

To be eligible for the preview, you will need to have an Android tablet running KitKat with a screen size of anywhere between 7 to 10.1-inch screen. The sign up form clearly states that the company is not looking for tablets running Android 5.0 Lollipop, so Nexus 9 owners are out of luck.

Microsoft currently only offers an Office Mobile app for Android phones that allows for viewing and editing of Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. However, the app is laggy and is incompatible with Android tablets.

Besides this, the Redmond based company also announced that it is making its Office apps completely free to use for iOS and down the line for Android users.

You can sign up for the Office for Android tablet preview from here.
