LG today announced a new mid-range Android smartphone for its home market, dubbed the Class. The handset is among the first devices from LG to feature a premium metal design and a glass back.

The front of this metal-clad phone houses a 5-inch display with a 720p resolution that is protected by a 2.5D curved glass. However, for some reason, the Class has extremely large bottom and top bezels, which does not really make it a pretty smartphone to look at.

Under the hood, the Class is powered by a Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 2GB LPDDR3 RAM, and 16GB of storage space. There is also a microSD card slot on the handset, a 1-watt speaker that is located oddly beside the camera module on the top of the phone.

As for the cameras, the rear of the phone comes with a 13MP shooter with a single LED flash, while the front house an 8MP shooter. It also features all the software camera features found on other LG devices, including Gesture shot and Interval shot.

The 7.4mm thin handset features a non-removable 2,050mAh battery that should be sufficient for the Class to last a full day on a single charge. The handset is already available for purchase at a price of 399,300 won in blue, black, gold, and silver colors. LG also makes it abundantly clear in its press release that it will not be launching the Class outside of Korea.
