LG today unveiled its newest mid-range Android smartphone — the LG Bello II. The handset is the successor to the L Bello handset — a popular mid-range smartphone in Latin America and other emerging countries.
The Bello II comes with a bigger 5-inch display with FWVGA (854 x 480) resolution, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. On the back, the phone houses an 8MP sensor, while there is a 5MP shooter in the front to fulfil all your selfie needs. On the connectivity front, the device features 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC. There is also a 2,540mAh removable battery on the handset.
“The LG Bello II brings unprecedented value to 3G markets, which still account for a significant 40 percent of smartphone markets,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With its 5MP selfie camera, large display and familiar features, the LG Bello II is a great balance of form, function and price, which is why we expect to be even more successful than its predecessor.”
As for the software, the Bello II runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with LG’s UX on top of it. The handset features some of the company’s proprietary features like Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash, which are usually found on LG’s high-end devices.
The LG Bello II will be dubbed the Prime II in Brazil and Chile and the LG Max in Mexico, India and CIS. The handset will be arriving in “key markets” in Latin America and India this month, with rollouts scheduled in Europe and CIS throughout the third quarter.
