Netflix is finally putting an end to workarounds and is officially introducing offline playback feature for its mobile apps including the Android app for both mobile phones and tablets. So you’ll now be able to binge watch your favorite show during your long commute or when you’re on a vacation, far away from stable Wi-Fi. The feature isn’t available for every movie and TV show out there (Disney content is missing), but there’s still a lot to be consumed offline.

How to Download a Movie or TV Episode on Netflix

Step 1: After opening the app tap on “Menu” button in the top and select “Available for Download“. This will show a list of all the movies and TV shows that you can download. You can also just start browsing around for movies and TV shows.

Step 2: When you select a movie or a TV show, you’ll get to the detail view. Here you’ll see a title of the movie or the TV episode. Next to it there’s the “Download” button. Tap on it to start the download.

How to Remove Downloads

Step 1: Tap on the “Menu” button and select “My Downloads

Step 2: Select a TV show or the movie.

Step 3: Tap on the “Edit” button on the top-right. It looks like a pen icon.

How To Download in HD

By default Netflix downloads in SD. But if you’ve got the space to spare and a big high resolution screen, you might want to watch content in high definition. Here’s how to switch to HD.

Step 1: Go to “Settings” and tap on “Download Video Quality.

Step 2: From here, select “High“.
