Google for Education has officially announced the latest addition to its goals in helping students and teachers get more done in a timely fashion.

As revealed by an official announcement on its website, Google for Education has launched Classroom for Android. With the new app, which brings with it plenty of helpful features for students and teachers, getting work done while on the go, or from anywhere really, is now a possibility. Google for Education has used Classroom in a non-mobile way for six months now, but the mobile app is brand new.

The app features the ability for students to take photos and upload them directly to the app, and attach them to assignments as needed. What’s more, the Snap a Photo feature will also give students the chance to upload photos from a text message, just in case they forget their homework and home and someone has to send a photo to show proof of its completion.

The other standout feature is the ability for students to share content to the Classroom app from other apps on their devices. As provided as an example in the announcement, this means that a student could use a drawing app on their phone, then share that image directly to the Classroom app so they can attach it to a piece of work they need it for.

The app also features an offline cache, which makes it possible for students and teachers to gain information regarding lesson plans and more even without an active network connection.

Google Classroom is available now in the Play Store (available through the source link below), and it’s a free download.
