We have seen quite a handful of smartwatches that are aiming to challenge Apple Watch. Some of them use wearOS while others like Fitbit run on a proprietary operating system. Garmin has announced its latest series of sports-centric watches. The Fenix 6 Series sports a larger display and can be had with an optional solar panel.

The Garmin Fenix 6 lineup come equipped with displays that are 1.3-inch-1.4-inch in size. However all the three watches are sized differently, the Fenix 6S (42mm), Fenix 6 (47mm) and Fenix 6X (51mm.) The Fenix 6X is priced at $750, however, you can toss in an additional $400 and yet yourself a solar panel. The smartwatches already offer 21-day battery life and the solar screen offers an additional 3-days. Please note that only Garmin Fenix 6X is offered with an optional solar panel.

Meanwhile, the Fenix 6 and 6S prices start at $600. Garmin lets you add wifi and music storage and also upgrade to a sapphire screen. As far as features are concerned, the new Garmin Fenix 6 watches offer heart track rating, blood oxygen monitoring, NFC support. Also present is Garmin’s PacePro feature that suggests pace while running. As a bonus, you will get topographic maps of outdoor spaces like ski resorts and golf courses. All the new Garmin Fenix watches are available for sale starting today.

Body Battery is yet another interesting feature offered by Garmin Fenix 6 watches. The indicator displays your body’s energy and this will help you schedule workouts and plan your day accordingly. Garmin says that Body Battery works by gauging several variables like stress level, heart rate variability, sleep, and activity.
