With Google releasing Android 8.0 Oreo to AOSP over a month ago, Galaxy S8 owners from around the world are desperately waiting for the update to land on their device. While Samsung has no plans of rolling out the update anytime soon, the company is rumored to start the Oreo beta test for the Galaxy S8 from October 31st.

The first phase of the S8’s Oreo beta program will go live in the United Kingdom, North America, and South Korea. In the second phase, Samsung will expand it to China, Germany, Spain, France, Poland, and India. It is, however, not clear as to how long of a gap there is between the first and second phase.

If you live in any of the markets mentioned above, you will be able to join the S8’s Oreo beta program through the Samsung Members app. Make sure to register for the Galaxy Beta program from the app though. Once registered and confirmed from Samsung, the company will automatically send an OTA update to your device.

Samsung has not officially announced as to when it plans on rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to the Galaxy S8. Whenever the update lands though, it will apparently also introduce a Portrait mode for the camera app of the handset.

Considering the beta program for the Oreo update of the S8 is going to start on October 31, the final update should be rolled out for the device by the end of this year.
