A couple of days ago, Google started rolling out an update for Chromecast that introduced the ability to natively mirror the screen of selected Android devices to any Chromecast connected TV. Thanks to developer r3pwn over at XDA forums, owners of other Android devices can now also enjoy this feature on their device via a simple app.

The only bummer is that the app requires root access to work properly. Other requirements include any recent Android device running the latest version of Play Services and Android 4.4.1 or higher.

You might be prompted to install SQLite on your Android device, when you first start the app. Make sure to install it and then go back to the app and click on the Disable option. When prompted, grant root access to the app, which will enable native Chromecast functionality for your device.

To mirror, then proceed to connect your Android device to your Chromecast. Then open the latest version of the Chromecast app on your device and select the option to Cast screen.

The app has already been reported to work successfully on a majority of the devices out there including the Galaxy Note 3, Xperia Z2, Z1, Z1 Compact, HTC One M8, LG G2 and others.
