Even after so many updates, Google Now and Voice Actions don’t allow users to toggle system settings using simple voice commands. A new app — Commandr — from the developer of OpenMic+ solves this problem and bypasses the lack of an open API from Google using a clever solution.

The app makes use of the “Take a note” voice command in Google Now, which can be routed to a third-party app of your choice, to bypass the lack of an API. Right now, the app only supports a handful of voice commands but the developer is working on adding some of the most requested ones from the users.

There is also Tasker integration for all you Tasker ninjas out there.

Command List (so far):
– Turn On/Off Wifi
– Turn On/Off Bluetooth
– Turn On/Off GPS (for some phones)
– Pause Music
– Resume Music
– Next Song
– Previous Song
– note (adds to note-taking app)
– Any Tasker command you can dream of!

Down the line, the developer also plans on adding Wolfram Alpha integration which should allow users to solve their maths problems via a simple voice command.

Commandr can be downloaded from the Play Store for free and works on any Android device running Jelly Bean (4.1) or higher.
