BlackBerry PrivPre-ordered a BlackBerry Priv? Here is some bad news for you. The company has sent out email to customers who pre-ordered the Priv through the official BlackBerry Store that due to “demand”, there has been a delay in the shipping of the handset to them.

The company mentions in its email that it now expects all pre-orders of the Priv to be delivered by November 24th.

This is a follow-up to the email we sent you on Friday to keep you updated on ShopBlackBerry PRIV pre-order deliveries. Due to demand, there has been a delay in shipping PRIV smartphones to some customers who pre-ordered.

We continue to deliver PRIV devices and expect all remaining pre-orders to arrive no later than November 24th. Once your order has been shipped you will receive a confirmation by email so you can track your order.

While a delay of 1-2 weeks is not bad by any means, it can get frustrating for customers who have been waiting for BlackBerry to launch a smartphone running Android for years now. It is unclear why there has been a delay in BlackBerry shipping the handset out to customers. Even though the company  says in its email that the delay is due to demand, the delay is probably due to poor supply from its side.

If you really are impatient to get the Priv right away in the U.S., you can head over to your nearest AT&T retail store and buy the handset on a two-year contract for $199.
