Blackberry Priv

AT&T has carried the BlackBerry-branded Priv, the company’s first smartphone with Android on board, since early November of last year.

That means AT&T has hosted the smartphone the longest when compared to T-Mobile and Verizon in the United States. Unfortunately, an executive for the Big Blue network has said that the Priv isn’t doing too well, and that there’s been an inordinate amount of returns compared to purchases that have been kept by customers.

CNET spoke with an executive for AT&T, who said that the Priv is “really struggling,” and that the carrier has seen “more returns than we’d like.” The executive would go on to say that according to feedback, BlackBerry fans have been purchasing the Priv, but have been unable to make the switch to Android from BlackBerry OS or BlackBerry 10. The inability to make that switch has caused a lot of devices to be returned.

The Priv is BlackBerry’s first attempt at an Android-based smartphone, and it’s a flagship to boot. However, reviews for the Priv weren’t promising, even our own review said that the Priv “isn’t the BlackBerry you’re looking for.” So perhaps this isn’t that big of a surprise.

Did you buy and keep a Priv?
