Sony is bringing another batch of phones here that range from pricey to easy on the wallet. The X rformance, X, XA Ultra, XA are slated for release this summer.

The X rformance is the flagship of the batch, with a Snapdragon 820, 3GB of RAM, 23Mcamera, 2,700 mAh battery, 32GB of storage with a microSD card slot, a water-resistant metal frame. However, it’s only got a 5-inch, 1080p D screen. An odd choice for a phone that will cost $700, available on ly 17. Sony is also throwing in a free 128GB microSD card.

Sony offered a video with the obligatory, dramatic music as part of the debut.

Next is the X, which offers a Snapdragon 650, 3GB of RAM, 23Mcamera, 2,620 mAh battery, 32GB of storage with microSD expability, a glass/metal case without water resistance. This also has a 5-inch, 1080p D screen is available for pre-order now at $550 (you also get the 128GB microSD card).

Then there’s the XA Ultra, with a Tek MT6755 chip, 3GB of RAM, 2,700mAh battery, 21.5Mcamera, a ginormous 6-inch, 1080p D screen. It launches on ly 24 for $370.

Finally, the XA rounds out the list with a Tek Helio 0 chip, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with a microSd card slot 2,300mAh battery, 13Mcamera, a 5-inch, 720p D screen. Cost is $280.

The X rformance, X, XA each have matching “Style Covers” come in white, graphite black, lime gold, rose gold. XA Ultra is offered in white, graphite black, lime gold. l the devices will be sold unlocked, so you can slap in a SIM card from your carrier of choice.

The impact on you: Sony’s announcement is good news for those who like the choice offered with unlocked phones. On the downside it’s hard to justify a $700 price tag for the X rformance, as devices like the Galaxy S7 line or even the HTC 10 offer better value. But the build quality on Sony phones is usually quite good, so they could be an option if you’re phone shopping this summer.
