Android device updates: pushes out first Android N patch

is going fast furious with Android N updates—kind of.

There’s already a fresh build of the developer preview that fixes some performance issues, of which there are plenty. Besides that, it was a pretty slow week of updates, though there should be plenty of new phones out there running Marshmallow now that the Galaxy S7 S7 ge are on sale.

Each week, we compile all the major software updates to hit the Android ecosystem, including phones tablets on U.S. carriers, unlocked phones, Android ar smartwatches, Android TV devices. Making sure your device is running the latest available software is a good housekeeping practice, ensuring you have the latest features with fewer bugs gaping security holes.

Nexus

Android N: If you’re running the Android N preview, you should see an over-the-air update for the Nexus 6 5X (N56 the Nexus 9 (N56X). The newest builds are also on the Android Developers site. If you’ve yet to try beta want to give it a go, you can flash the new image to your eligible phone. 

There isn’t any specific changelog, so this is likely bug fixes tweaks. is issuing five major updates before the final release, but it now looks like there will be some iterative improvements in-between.

Oneus

Oneus Two: A soak test is underway for Android 6.0, which comes baked in as part of the company’s Oxygen OS. Usually a soak test is the final step before a general release, so if you have one of these phones, which we rather liked in our Oneus Two review, the Marshmallow treat should come your way in the near future.
