This fall, we’ll benefit from the biggest update to the Android operating system in years.  promises over 5,000 new As (application programming interfaces), so there will be a ton of new toys for developers to make the best Android apps ever. 

It’s not all under-the-hood changes for developers. Android introduces a slick new look feel, together with a set of tools guildelines for developers to build apps that fit right in. calls this Material Design, it might really improve the way we use our phones tablets.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming OS, in plain-spoken language, to get you up to speed before the release rolls out.
