Google today announced the roll out of a new update for Android Wear that will add interactive watch faces to the OS. Up until now, tapping on a watch face in Android Wear brought up the app drawer, which was of limited use.

Post this latest update though, tapping on a watch face will lead it to display more information, change its look altogether, or launch a new app.

Google also highlighted a few watch faces that will be updated today to take advantage of the new feature being introduced in Android Wear. The first one is Bits, which allows you to select the information that will be display when you tap on the watch face. This includes the weather forecast, unread mails, your next meeting, missed calls, and more.

The second watch face is Under Armour that will display your step count, distance walked, calories burned, and more when tapped. Lastly, the Together watch face will take advantage of the new sharing capabilities being introduced in the latest update to Android Wear to allow friends or couples to easily their photos, emojis or their activities with each other through a simple tap.

Google had rolled out a major update to Android Wear back in May that introduced some new gestures, added Wi-Fi support to the OS, emojis, and more.

Google says that all Android Wear watches will get the update “in the coming weeks.”
