With Android 4.4.3 being rolled out to all the Nexus devices, owners of high-end devices from Samsung, LG and Sony are wondering when their OEM will roll-out the update for their devices. While on first glance Android 4.4.3 does not seem to pack any major features, it does include a lot of bug-fixes and security patches.

The sad truth is that unless you own a Google Play edition device or any phone from Motorola, the Android 4.4.3 update is still a couple of months away at best for you.

The reason behind this delay is that the OEM needs to update their skin to work with the latest version of Android. Even though Android 4.4.3 is such a minor release mainly consisting of some bug-fixes, it might break compatibility with your OEMs underlying framework.

Below is a quick list showing a tentative timeframe as to when your Android device should receive the Android 4.4.3 update for all the recently launched flagship devices.

Before you start criticizing Android for its fragmentation, keep in mind that its all about selecting the right device from the right OEM, if your main priority is quick Android updates.

For certain devices, it is very well possible that the OEM decides to skip the Android 4.4.3 update and directly update them to the next version of Android, if Google releases any at I/O this year. Also, since there are thousands of Android devices out there, it is not possible for us to mention them all in the above list. However, if your Android device has or will soon be receiving the Android 4.4.3 update, definitely drop in a comment and let us and others know as well.

Lastly, the above timeframe is a rough estimate looking at the companies previous update schedule and not an official announcement from any of them.
