When a weather app gets opened, sometimes someone just wants to see a nice animation of rain falling, or lightning striking the digital air.

Thanks to Yahoo! Weather, those dreams can come true. On Wednesday, Yahoo! officially announced an update to the Weather app, in which the main focus is the new animations that the app presents when it’s opened. Now, thanks to “bleeding-edge graphics technology” rain, fog, heat, frost and more look better than ever:

“With our latest Android update, you’ll see weather conditions—fog, rain, heat, snow, lightning, and frost—animated through leveraging bleeding-edge graphics technology typically only seen in video games. We’re excited to take your weather experience to the next level, as we make it even more delightful.“
