Realme has launched the new 5-Series in India. Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth pulled the wraps from Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro smartphones. Both the new devices arrive with the quad rear camera unit and will be sold online via Flipkart and Amazon.
Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro Features and Specifications
The Realme 5 Pro comes fitted with a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Powering the device is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
On the camera front, Realme 5 Pro offers a quad rear camera setup that consists of a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.25, 2-megapixel sensor dedicated to portrait mode and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The company claims that Realme 5 Pro uses the image tuning technology present in the Realme X. Meanwhile the selfie camera uses a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0.
The Realme 5 Pro is backed by 4,035mAh battery and offers VOOC 3.0 fast charging whilst bundling a 20W USB Type-C fast charger. Lastly, the Realme 5 Pro will be available in Sparkling Blue and Crystal Green color.
Moving on, the Realme 5 resembles the Pro version in many aspects. It comes with a 6.5-inch display that offers a staggering 89 percent screen-to-body ratio. Camera options on the Realme 5 are similar to the Pro. The device shares the quad-camera unit with the Realme 5 Pro and is backed by a 5,000mAh battery. Furthermore, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 and paired with up to 5GB of RAM. One the storage front the Realme 5 offers up to 128GB. Both the Realme 5 and 5 Pro will run on Android 9 Pie with Color OS 6 overlay.
Realme also launched a bunch of Realme accessories including Realme Iconic Case for Realme 5 Series, Realme Tote bag and Realme Buds 2. Madhav Sheth, Realme CEO took the opportunity to announce Realme XT, a new premium smartphone with a 64-megapixel sensor at the rear.
Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro Pricing and Availability
Realme 5 Pro price starts at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. Meanwhile, the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant are priced at Rs 14,999 while the top of the line 8GB RAM/128GB Storage commands Rs 16,999.
Realme 5 is priced starting at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant, the 4GB RAM/ 64GB Storage retails at Rs 10,999 while the top-end 4GB RAM/128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 11,999. The first sale for Realme 5 is scheduled for August 27 while the Realme 5 Pro will start selling on September 4.
