Less than three months after unveiling the RealMe 1, Oppo’s sub-brand RealMe is back with the RealMe 2. The success of the RealMe 1 took many by surprise, with Oppo spinning off RealMe as a separate brand for easier operations.

Q) What are the key features of the RealMe 1?

A) The RealMe 2’s highlight is its excellent performance and almost two-day battery life thanks to its 4230mAh battery. The diamond pattern back of the handset is also one of its highlights, though since its made of plastic, its not going to win any awards for its in-hand feeling.

Q) Is the handset water-resistant?

A) No, the RealMe 2 is not water or dust-resistant.

Q) Does the RealMe 2 suffer from overheating issues?

A) No, the RealMe 2 does not suffer from any overheating issues. Yes, it will get a bit warm while playing heavy games but that should not be a cause for concern.

A) Due to its unibody build, the battery and rear cover of the RealMe 2 is not removable.

A) Yes, the notch on the RealMe 2 can be turned off.

A) No. It makes use of a fiber panel. It does look premium though thanks to its diamond pattern design.

Q) What kind of SIM card slot does the phone have? Can I use two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time?

A) The handset features a dedicated microSD card slot along with two SIM card slots. This means that you can use a microSD card along with two nano SIM cards on the phone at the same time.

A) No, the RealMe 2 lacks an IR blaster. This means you cannot use the phone to control other electronic devices around you.

A) Yes, there’s face unlock on the handset. And you can use it for locking apps and other system settings as well apart from just unlocking the device.

A) No, you cannot. The handset is also capable of recording Full HD videos at 30fps.

A) No, you cannot make direct video calls on the handset. You will have to use apps like Google Duo or Skype for this.

A) Yes, it supports LTE and VoLTE networks. It has full support for Reliance Jio’s VoLTE network on both its SIM card slots.

A) Yes, the RealMe 2 has dual-VoLTE support.

Q) What about VoLTE support on AirTel’s network?

A) Not yet. But Oppo can add support for AirTel and Vodafone’s VoLTE network via an OTA update in the future.

A) Below average.

Q) Is there any kind of Quick Charging support on the RealMe 2?

A) Sadly, no. The RealMe 2 lacks support for any kind of fast or quick charging support.

Q) How much free storage space does one get on the handset out of the box?

A) Almost 21GB. This can be increased slightly by uninstalling some of the pre-loaded apps and bloatware.

Q) Can you uninstall or disable pre-installed apps on the handset?

A) Yes, you can uninstall or disable some pre-installed apps on the handset, but not all.

Q) Does the handset support USB OTG?

A) Yes, the handset supports USB On-The-Go. This allows you to directly connect pen drives, external hard disks and more using an adapter to the device.

A) The base variant of the RealMe 1 is priced at Rs 8,990, while the 4GB/64GB variant is priced at Rs 10,990.
