The CyanogenMod team today has released the first official CyanogenMod 13 nightly build for the OnePlus 3 based on Android 6.0.1. While unofficial CM13 builds for the handset were already available on XDA, an official release signifies that the ROM is now almost (or already is) on the verge of becoming a daily driver, with only some niggling issues being present.

If you are all set to ditch OxygenOS on your OnePlus 3 and install CyanogenMod 13 on it, there are two things you should know. First, due to the lack of a binary release from OnePlus, Dash Charge is not supported in CyanogenMod 13 on the OnePlus 3. This is a temporary setback though, as the company has promised it will release it soon.

Second, the camera quality takes a major hit in CyanogenMod 13 since the post processing applied by the stock camera app in OxygenOS is missing here. This is an issue that will likely remain since the chances of OnePlus releasing their stock camera app on the Google Play Store with all its post-processing algorithm in tow is very unlikely.

Nonetheless, if these issues don’t really bother you, you can go ahead and install the official CyanogenMod 13 nightly on your OnePlus 3.
