Besides the new Moto X, Motorola also unveiled the successor to the Moto G — its highly popular budget phone running a near stock build of Android.

The new Moto G sports a bigger screen and only slightly updated internals, which differentiates it from its predecessor.

The new Moto G comes with a bigger 5-inch 720p LCD display and a higher resolution 8MP camera. Apart from that, it sports the same exact specs as the its predecessor including a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM. Motorola, thankfully, has also added a microSD card slot and front-facing stereo speakers this time around.

Surprisingly though, Motorola has still not added LTE functionality to the new Moto G, which was a sore point of the last year’s model.

The new Moto G will go on sale from today in most of the major markets and retain the same price as its predecessor at a tempting $179 for the unlocked model.
