While Motorola’s Moto G was graced with a software update to Android 4.4.3 earlier this month, it looks like the new software goodies aren’t done with Motorola’s middle-of-the-road Moto-branded device. The Moto G is now reportedly receiving an update to Android 4.4.4, following in the steps of other well-known devices.

Just a few days ago, Sony released their own update to the Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra which brought the devices to Android 4.4.4. HTC has just revealed their own update plans that include the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system as well. And now Motorola is getting in on the action, with an update that is now rolling out to their Moto G Google Play Edition.

There’s not much in the update itself, but if you’re into the technical details, you can find what’s buried inside the new software right here. Android 4.4.4 KitKat is meant mostly for some bug fixes behind the scenes, as well as addressing some security issues.

As usual, the software is being rolled out in waves, so if you haven’t been prompted quite yet, just be patient. Or, if you just can’t wait, you can head through the link below to get your hands on it directly.

Have you updated your Moto G yet?
