In just a week from now, Motorola will likely be announcing the third generation Moto G, but looking at how the handset has been leaking, the company might not have any surprises up its sleeve left for the event.

While previous leaks have already given us a good idea of what to expect from the third-generation Moto G in terms of specs and design, today’s leak has revealed a new feature of the phone. From the leaked pictures of the dummy unit of the 3rd generation Moto G, it is clear that the handset will feature an IPX7 rating.

Motorola devices have in the past featured a water resistant coating, but the devices lacked any kind of IP rating. So, it is surprising to see that the upcoming Moto G will come with an IPX7 rating. Not that we are complaining though, since the Ingress Protection rating of 7 means the handset will easily be able to survive any contact with water and moisture without any issues.

As for the specs, the leaked images confirm what we have heard previously: a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, a 5-inch 720p display, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing shooter, 2,470mAh battery, a microSD card slot and LTE connectivity.

The handset is also expected to come with Moto Maker customisation options, which along with the IPX7 rating will help the Moto G (2015) to differentiate itself from a crowd of other $150-200 budget smartphones from Chinese OEMs.
