As rumored, Google has started rolling out a major update for the Google Search app on Android. The update brings a plethora of new cards, the ability to hold a conversation with Now (inspired from Siri) and a hidden new feature.

The full list of new cards are as follows:

  • Traffic incidents using Waze on maps.
  • Recurring reminders.
  • See when your packages are ready for in-store pickup.
  • You can now bring back dismissed cards by pressing Undo.
  • Real-time scores for rugby teams

The website update card will provide users with a Reader style like card. There is also a new refresh animation, and the ability to undo the dismissal of a card. The slightly refreshed UI, along with the new pull-to-refresh feature, as seen on the Nexus 5, are also present.

The hidden new feature is the inclusion of the Google Experience launcher inside the Search app. This means that by simply installing an APK, any Android 4.1+ device will be able to get a fully working GEL experience. The translucent status and navigation bar will only in Android 4.4 KitKat though.

Since this is a phased roll-out, the update might take a few days to be available for your device. If you cannot wait, simply download and install this APK to enjoy the latest version of Google Search on your device right away!
