To cash in on the ongoing holiday season, developers frequently put their apps and games on discount on the Google Play Store. The lowest prices we have seen apps being discounted to are usually around 10 cents, but some developers are now offering their games for only 1 cent.

For now, only two games are being sold for only a cent on the Play Store: Lost Journey, a space-based Puzzle adventure game, and Armpit Hero: VIP, an action-RPG. Both games are a part of the Year End Deals that Google is offering on some of the popular games. Do note that both these games also feature IAPs, so paying a cent for them does not necessarily provide you with their full unlocked versions.

Up until now, it was assumed that Google only allowed the minimum price of an app to be set to 10 cents. So, it’s surprising that the developers of Lost Journey and Armpit Hero have managed to set the price of their game to only a cent. This sure is a nice workaround to Google’s policy in which once a paid app becomes free, it will have to remain free forever. By reducing the price of their games and apps to only a cent, developers are able to offer their games to customers for almost free while still being able to charge a dollar or two for it post the holiday sale.
