Besides unveiling the V10, LG also previewed the LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition with many new features. Most notably, LG boasts the second generation Watch Urbane is the first Android Wear device to feature cellular connectivity.

This means that the watch will be capable of communicating to the Android device it is connected to over 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.

Additionally, LG has also upgraded the resolution of the 1.38-inch P-OLED display on the new Urbane to 480 x 480 — the highest resolution screen currently offered by any smartwatch. It has also increased the battery capacity to 570mAh (up from 410mAh) to further improve the battery life of the device.

“The wearable sector continues to evolve and we’re playing an active role in that by bringing to market various devices that appeal to various consumers,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “At LG, we don’t think there is a one-size-fits-all wearable device. This second edition of our Watch Urbane aims to be a must-have smart device for active individuals who want to stay connected to the world, whether they’re at work, at home or on the tennis court.”

The Watch Urbane now also comes with three buttons on its side that are used to provide quick access to certain functions of the watch. This includes the ability to quickly access the contacts, LG’s Health app, and the app drawer. The Ambient screen mode can also be toggled by simply pressing the crown. The Watch Urbane 2nd edition will come pre-loaded with 16 watch faces and offer features like stress level monitoring, heart rate tracking, and workout tips.

The second generation Watch Urbane will be first available in the United States and Korea and then make its way to Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and CIS. LG will reveal the price and availability of the watch at a future date though.
