February is typically a pretty busy month for new Android smartphones, and next month won’t be any different.

The rumor mill has been pointing to an upcoming G8 smartphone from LG, set to debut before the end of February. That handset is said to feature a 3D camera system, as well as a second-screen attachment. Now, a new rumor suggests that the Life’s Good crew might have one more device to show off next month as well.

At this year’s Mobile World Congress, LG is expected to debut the “V50 ThinQ 5G” alongside the G8. As the name of the phone suggests, this will be LG’s first 5G-enabled smartphone. That should make it the more enticing handset, depending on price and specs, as far as a comparison to the G8 is concerned.

Speaking of specs, the report says that the upcoming V50 will have a 6-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor (equipped with vapor-chamber cooling), and a 4000mAh battery. If this particular rumor is true, it means that LG is hustling out the V40’s successor a bit faster than expected. The V40 ThinQ launched in the fall of last year, so expectations were that its successor would arrive around the same time this year.

Which does lead to some wondering just how much LG might be changing in the V50 versus the V40. If LG is only putting a 5G modem inside, and upgrading the processor, will that warrant a new phone purchase? More than that, waiting until the second half of 2019 to launch a 5G phone actually makes more sense, considering the wireless technology will be available in more markets by then.

We will have to wait and see. Based on this report, though, we don’t have long to wait until we see two new flagship smartphones from the Life’s Good crew. What are you more excited for? A 5G-enabled phone or a device with a second screen attachment?
