The LG G Watch has already received its first custom ROM from the community, less than a week since it actually went on sale. The first custom ROM for the smartwatch does not bring much in terms of features but the developer does state that there are some performance and battery life improvements.

Most notably, the developer says that the ROM greatly reduces the lag while swiping between different screens. If you found the vibration intensity of the G Watch a little on the weak side, you will be glad to know that this custom ROM also increases its strength.

Installing the custom ROM is quite a bit different compared to Android devices and is actually a great deal easier. If you have already managed to get your hands on the G Watch and don’t mind tinkering around with it, head over to this thread on RootzWiki for the download link and flashing instructions.

Do note that it is very well possible that those performance and battery life improvements are placebo but I guess there is no harm in trying the ROM out. If you notice any significant changes after installing this ROM on your G Watch, do drop in a comment and let us know.
