HTC today launched its much anticipated flagship, the HTC 10, in India. While the Taiwanese maker was initially planning on bringing the watered down Snapdragon 652 variant of the handset in India, a lot of negative criticism led it to change its decision.
Powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset, the HTC 10 sports a 5.2-inch Quad HD S-LCD5 display. Featuring a metal unibody design, the 10 features chamfered back and BoomSound speakers. One of the speakers is located at the bottom and provides bass, while the second one is located at the top within the earpiece and acts as a tweeter. The bottom chin of the handset also sports capacitive navigation keys, with the home button featuring a fingerprint scanner.
Other specs of the handset include 3GB RAM, 32GB storage space, USB Type-C port, and a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The handset also comes with a 12MP IMX377 shooter at the rear with OIS and f/1.8 aperture. At the front, the 10 houses a 5MP shooter with OIS. Running on Marshmallow, HTC has worked closely with Google to reduce the number of redundant apps it ships with the handset. It has also confirmed that the 10 will receive the Android N update.
The HTC 10 will soon be going on sale in India through various offline channels for Rs. 52,990. This pricing is similar to the LG G5, which went up for pre-order in India last week.
