GSMA Awards 2015

The GSM Association today announced the winners of the 20th annual Global Mobile Awards at the 2015 Mobile World Congress. This year, the crown for the ‘Best Smartphone of the Year’ was taken by two devices: Apple’s iPhone 6 and the LG G3.

The crown for the ‘Best Smartphone of the Year’ was taken by HTC’s One M7 last year.

“Since launch, the LG G3 has been critically acclaimed, carried by over 170 partners across the globe and its success has largely contributed to the 16 percent increase in annual global revenue,” said the GSMA in its award announcement

The ‘Best new handset’ award was taken by Samsung’s Galaxy S6 edge, while Motorola’s Moto E won the award for the ‘Best Low Cost Smartphone.’ Motorola’s Moto 360 also won the award for the ‘Best Wearable Mobile Technology’ at the awards show. The award for the ‘Best Mobile Tablet’ surprisingly went to Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3, and not the iPad Air 2 or other impressive Android tablets.
