Google today announced that it is expanding its Android One program to Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Egypt and Morocco with the launch of the Infinix HOT 2.

The company has partnered with one of the fastest growing smartphone brands in Africa, Infinix, to launch the HOT 2. The handset packs a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, a 5-inch screen with 720p resolution, 16GB storage space, 1/2GB RAM, 2MP front camera, and an 8MP rear shooter. The device also sports a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, dual SIM connectivity, Bluetooth, and a 2,200mAh battery.

Like other Android One devices, the Infinix HOT 2 runs on Android 5.1 and will get the update to Android 6.0 later this year. It will be available in black, white, red, blue, and gold (with 2GB RAM) colors. The Infinix HOT 2 will be immediately available for sale in Nigeria at select retail outlets and online through Jumia for N17,500 (~88USD). It will also be available in other countries over the next few weeks.

Additionally, Google announced today that it is expanding its YouTube offline to Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and Egypt” within the next few months. This feature makes it possible to download YouTube videos for offline viewing for up to 48 hours.
