A new battery life comparison chart has revealed the true performance of the Samsung Galaxy S5. The smartphone was pitted against other high end flagships that are available in the market today, including the likes of the Apple iPhone 5s, the LG G2 as well as the Nexus 5.

The results are fairly convincing for the Galaxy S5, as it appears to have come out on top with 3D gaming and talktime, while the iPhone 5s marginally edged out the Samsung flagship in terms of web browsing.

The browser test on WiFi was done with the screen set in high luminance mode and at 230 nits. Under these circumstances, the Galaxy S5 reportedly lasted over 7 hours, which is very impressive.

These are very optimistic results if you’re looking to get the Galaxy S5 when it becomes available on April 11, as battery life is one of the main concerns with modern flagships.

What’s even more surprising is that the Galaxy S5 is able to do so well despite packing a 2,800 mAh battery, a feature that was criticized during launch. So it seems like Samsung’s software tweaking with the battery is really doing wonders to the overall battery life of the phone.
