App exclusivities aren’t such a big deal anymore, as they rarely last all that long these days. However, when a high-profile app jumps ship from the Apple ecosystem like djay 2, it tends to make waves.

djay 2 is an app from Algoriddim, a company that has seen plenty of the spotlight from Apple over the years, including an Apple Design Award in 2011 for the original iPad app. It made its debut with the original djay app on Mac, before it was eventually brought over to the iPad and then, ultimately, to the iPhone. With each new release the app has grown in popularity from professionals to amateurs.

Now the app is officially available in the Google Play Store. What’s more, it is not simply just a port of the iOS version. This new app was built from the ground up just for Android, and the look-and-feel of it has been replicated from the iOS version where possible. The app also boasts feature parity to the iOS version, including one of the biggest features in djay 2, Spotify integration. With this integration, users can automatically match individual tracks with the Spotify library.

There are plenty of other features, including Automix, music library integration, plenty of audio effects, mixers and more. The app itself is currently listed at $2.99, but this is a introductory price that will go up soon. You can find a link to the app below.
