Detailed Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Specs Leak

Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Note 9 officially on August 9, but the company’s surprise has already been ruined by a detailed hands-on of the handset. Today, more details regarding the Galaxy Note 9 have surfaced leaving little to imagination.

The Galaxy Note 9 will feature a design that is similar to last year’s Galaxy Note 8, though it will be slightly thicker (8.8mm vs 8.6mm) and wider. This is to accommodate a significantly bigger 4,000mAh battery which should ensure the Note 9 is a champion in the battery life department.

There’s no mention of the fact whether the Note 9 will come with faster-wired charging to make up for the increase in battery capacity or not.

The fingerprint scanner at the rear has also been repositioned below the horizontal dual-camera setup thereby making it easier to reach.

The added thickness might also be due to the new S-Pen which now comes with its own internal battery and Bluetooth connectivity that should open a new set of possibilities.

As for the display, the Galaxy Note 9 will continue to feature a 6.3-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display. Samsung has improved it further by ensuring it is capable of reaching a brightness level of 1150 nits when under direct sunlight.

Other specs of the Note 9 remains the same as the Galaxy S9. This means the U.S. variant is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset, while the international version will feature an Exynos 9810 chipset. The handset will also sport 6GB RAM, microSD card slot, wireless charging, an iris scanner, face unlock, 3.5mm jack, USB-C connectivity, and Android 8.1 Oreo with Samsung’s latest Experience UI. Software improvements include enhancements to AR Emoji and improved performance.

Interestingly, Samsung is bumping the minimum storage on the Note 9 to 128GB, and it also plans on launching a 256GB and 512GB storage variant of the device. However, the latter will be limited to certain markets.

At the rear, the Note 9 will feature the same 12MP dual-camera setup as seen on the S9. However, Samsung has managed to improve it further by making algorithm improvements, with image stabilization also being improved.

The report points to the Galaxy Note 9 being priced at 1,000 Euros in the Netherlands, with higher storage variant carrying an even higher price tag.

What do you think about the Galaxy Note 9 based on the leaked specs?
