When a game gains popularity on another mobile platform, the wait for its debut on Android can be tough. While this is not technically Crossy Road‘s debut on the Android platform as a whole, its wider release is certainly worthwhile.

For what it’s worth, Crossy Road, which managed to grab plenty of accolades since its launch in 2014, was made available through the Amazon Appstore back on December 13, 2014. However, as is usually the case, the compatibility for Android-based devices wasn’t as broad as it is when released through the Google Play store. So, now that Crossy Road is available in the Play store, more Android owners can get in on the fun.

The game itself is called an “endless Frogger” game, and as one can imagine, it’s all about the challenge of endlessly trying to reach the highest score possible. In this particular title, it’s all about crossing roads, bodies of water and train tracks utilizing touchscreen swipes. There’s a bird that will grab you up and end the game if you don’t keep moving, and the player will have to avoid obstacles like cars and trains. There is more than 50 characters to choose from within the title, all of which can be unlocked via coins earned in the process of playing. There’s a leaderboard attached to Google Play, too, so if you sign in using your Google account, the competition really heats up.

You can check out the title’s launch trailer for the Google Play store below. Crossy Road is developed by Hipster Whale, and it’s a free game.
