It looks like ASUS is all set to jump into the wearable market as early as next month at IFA in Berlin. According to a Focus Taiwan, ASUS is reportedly considering on releasing its first Android Wear powered smartwatch, as told by its CEO, Jerry Shen, at an investor’s conference.

Apparently, the first smartwatch from ASUS has been well received by the folks over at Google, and comes with a better design than its competitors and a low price tag. Shen also states that while the wearable market has a lot of potential, it will not grow exponentially or as quickly as the smartphone market during the second half of this year or early next year.

Right now, only two Android Wear powered smartwatches are available for sale — Samsung’s Gear Live and LG’s G Watch. However, both feel like a rushed product with a very chunky design and many niggling issues.

The only exception is Motorola’s upcoming smartwatch — the Moto 360 — that truly looks impressive. Motorola, however, is yet to announce a probable release date for the watch.
