pledges to fix G4 bootloop issue

G4 owners who have been complaining about a persistent bootloop problem should finally get some relief. 

The company has officially acknowledged that defective hardware is to blame, in particular loose contact between some components. issued the following statement to Android Authority:

Electronics has been made aware of a booting issue with the G4 smartphone that has now been identified as resulting from a loose contact between components. Customers who are experiencing booting issues with their G4s should contact their local carrier from where the G4 was purchased or a nearby Service Center ( for repair under full warranty.

Customers who purchased their G4 devices from non-carrier retailers should contact an Service Center with the understing that warranty conditions will differ. Electronics is committed to providing the highest stards of product quality customer service apologizes for the inconvenience caused to some of our customers who initially received incorrect diagnoses.

The issue is apparently affecting numerous regional carrier-bred units. It reached a fever pitch when a petition was launched, asking to admit the problem fix it.
