Sony is back again with two more smartphones, they each have their own claim to fame.

The Xperia M5 is for those want a device that will catch the eye of others, as it has a mostly-glass build gold color option. The phone has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera to go with the 21.5-megapixel option on the back. It includes a 5-inch 1080p display, 2.0 GHz Tek Octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM a claim of two days worth of battery life from the 2600 mAh battery. The front back are built with what Sony calls “sleek, premium glass.”

The Xperia C5 Ultra is for those who want their phone to withst a drop in the water. That’s a good thing because it’s huge: with its six-inch display, there’s a decent change it may slip out of your h. ile the Xperia C5 has the same 13 megapixel front camera as the M5, it adds a front-facing flash. Its rear camera is also 13M rather than 21.5, the other specs are more modest, too. The phone has a more modest 1.7GHz Tek processor, though it includes a one-hed mode given its substantial size. The phone is offered in three colors: white, black, a sort of teal green.

Both devices will ship in mid-August, though Sony didn’t detail any pricing information.

The story behind the story: Sony’s smartphone business isn’t doing all that great, but the company recently indicated the growing Internet of Things market is a key motivator to stay with it. However, its devices have long suffered from a lack of marketing attention slow operating system updates, which has limited their appeal in the U.S. A recent leak of a revamped interface that’s close to stock Android shows promise, though it’s unclear if these new devices would see the new software.
