HTC is on the verge of releasing a very big update to the HTC One M9, targeting the camera, battery life, heat management, other issues.

According to Antech, fixes include better auto-exposure, reduction of noise blur in low light, less yellow green hue while taking pictures in extreme lighting conditions.

The rollout is first going to international devices, but is scheduled to hit the U.S. later in ne, according to the report.

On the battery front you should see less power eaten up by HTC’s YouTube Facebook integration. so, smarter heat management is supposed to keep the phone cooler when it’s recharging.

The update comes shortly after reports that HTC’s shares hit an all-time low, partly driven by abysmal sales of the One M9. Our review lined up with other observations; that the phone had a subpar camera wasn’t a compelling upgrade from the One M8.

HTC already sent out a patch in April to address some camera issues.

The story behind the story: HTC seems to be going in the wrong direction lately. After building an impressive phone last year in the One M8, the company’s newest flagship was underwhelming, especially in comparison to the Galaxy S6. The company has recognized the software problems, but it may not be enough to drive any sales.
