Android M to overhaul the way app permissions work

th Android M you’ll no longer have a long list of permissions to approve when installing an app.

announced at its I/O conference Thursday that instead you’ll approve specific permissions when you go to use that feature inside the app. For example, if you try an action that wants to use the microphone, location, or the camera, you’ll get a popup asking you to approve that particular function. The permissions are also designed to be simpler for you to underst exactly what you’re saying, “yes” to.

Android M is a developer preview, so we’re not likely to see a formal release until later this year.
