Maps update adds batch photo upload, hides your reservations

It’s now easier to share a bundle of photos captured from your last adventure to Maps. The version 9.8 update adds a batch-upload option if you want to grace the Maps community with your best images.

Another add-on is the ability to hide reservation details from your map. automatically will add trip reservations that it spots in your Gmail to where you’re headed (see pictured). For example, if you’re flying into a specific airport, your flight itinerary will pop up when you look it up in Maps.

You can now hide your itinerary details upload a larger group of photos with the latest Maps update.

If you want to hide those details, you can now do so by touching on the reservation then choosing the Hide this reservation option from the menu.

More details emerged from an A teardown by Android lice, where they found hints at some type of “always on” mode for Maps, where the background fades to black white but maintains an active connection displays your location.

got a hint of this when showed us the next version of Android ar. It likely needs the operating system update to go live, but the fact that the code is there means we may not have to wait long. 

The update to the Maps app is rolling through the ay Store, or you can grab it now from A Mirror.

The impact on you: If you’ve put together a surprise weekend for your significant other you don’t want your Maps app to spill the beans. Hiding your reservation is the way to do it. You’ll have to do this for each specific venue, unless you want to tell to stop finding these details altogether.
