The Store is getting a taste of the finer things with the tch Urbane taking its place on the shelf by the end of the month, joining several other smartwatches that run ’s wearable platform.

hasn’t spilled any price details, only announcing it will be available in about a week in the U.S. 12 other countries. It’s likely to cost more than $299 G tch R given the new watch’s metal build.

ile the metal exterior circular watch face put it a step above other watches in the looks department, the specs are right in line with other Android ar watches. It has the same 1.3-inch, 320×320 OD display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 410 mAh battery as ’s G tch R.

ong with trying to differentiate the watch against the competition by giving it more svelte looks, is touting two proprietary software features. Call lets you access recent calls favorite contacts. And lse measures your heart rate during an exercise session. It will report this data to an Health app, which the company is still building.

There’s a fine line between enhanced features bloatware, so we’ll have to try these out see if they elevate Android ar in any meaningful way.

y this matters: has stocked its new store with many of the available Android ar watches, such as the Moto 360, Samsung Gear ve, Sony Smartwatch 3. Android ar has yet to really l a must-have watch that generates the kind of buzz the platform needs. The tch Urbane certainly has the looks but we’ll have to see how its day-to-day performance checks out, especially with all those new Android ar features is pushing out soon.
