Android Pay is Now Live in Russia

Google today announced that it is bringing Android Pay to Russia. At launch, Android Pay will be supported by 15 banks with thousands of retailers and organisations supporting it as well. 

Some popular retailers in Russia supporting Android Pay at launch include KFC, Magnit, Rosneft, Burger King, and more.

As for the supported banks, it includes MTS Bank, “Ak Bars,” Yandex.Money, Bank “Opening,” VTB 24, and others. Russian payment services like ASSIST and Payture are also working with Google on adding Android Pay support.

Russia is the 11th country in the world where Google is bringing Android Pay. The company had announced at its recently concluded Google I/O that it would be launching Android Pay in Russia and 9 other new markets like Spain, Taiwan, Brazil and Canada over the next few months. It also introduced peer-to-peer payment support for Android Pay users in the US.

Android Pay is available on all Android 4.4+ devices featuring NFC. The app can be downloaded from the Android Pay and you can then set it up by adding your card details.
