Users of the cellular model of the 2012 Nexus 7 will be pleased to know that the Android 4.4.3 OTA file is now available to flash manually if the update hasn’t arrived on your device yet. This is a zip file and will require some know-how to flash, but it’s much easier than installing from a factory image which is available from Google’s servers.

The update will change the build number to KTU84L. Before going through with the process, make sure that your 2012 Nexus 7 carries the build number KOT49H which is from Android 4.4.2. You can check out the list of improvements and features associated with this new update in our dedicated post here.

You can follow our steps to sideload the OTA file manually to your device if you’re new to the concept. The tutorial was done for the Nexus 5 a couple of days ago, but the process is pretty much the same for the Nexus 7 as well.

Even though Google has officially begun the rollout of Android 4.4.3 for its Nexus and GPE devices, the wait is somewhat excruciating for users. So download the zip file from the link mentioned below and follow the aforementioned steps to have Android 4.4.3 running on your 2012 3G Nexus 7. Remember, this process doesn’t involve wiping your data, so your photos and music will remain safe.
